According to Fox 19 News A court-appointed psychologist examined the man accused of murdering a Hamilton County deputy and determined he suffers from a serious mental illness that impairs his rational judgment, an attorney says.

Rodney Hinton Jr.’s lawyer, Clyde Bennett II, told FOX19 NOW about the outcome of the mental evaluation earlier this week and then wrote a lengthy post about it on his Facebook post Wednesday.

The outcome of that report, Bennett maintains, clearly shows Hinton, 38, is now ineligible for the death penalty under #Ohio law.

"When the children were dead, he kissed them and those who had the most handsome limbs and heads he held up to admire them, and had their bodies cruelly cut open and took delight at the sight of their inner organs."

In the early 15th century, French knight Gilles de Rais fought valiantly alongside Joan of Arc as her right-hand man. When he retired to his estate, he was hailed as a war hero and protector of France — that is until he was caught for raping and killing more than 100 children in satanic rituals inside his castle. Once fluttering gently through the coastal dunes of San Francisco, the Xerces Blue Butterfly now exists only in photographs and memories. It was the very first insect species in the United States known to go extinct directly due to human activity, marking a chilling turning point in our ecological history. The Xerces Blue (Glaucopsyche xerces) was a tiny, iridescent blue butterfly native to the sand dunes along the San Francisco Peninsula. For thousands of years, it thrived in a fragile, unique ecosystem. But in the 1940s, as the city of San Francisco rapidly expanded, its natural habitat was swallowed up by concrete, roads, and suburban housing. The coastal dunes that once held a rich array of native plants were leveled to make way for development, erasing not just a landscape but a lifeline. The larvae of the Xerces Blue depended heavily on two native plants, Lotus and Lupinus, for nourishment and reproduction. When those plants vanished under bulldozers, so did the butterfly's chances of survival. With no food source and no breeding grounds, the population plummeted to zero. Conservationists were too late to act, and by the mid-20th century, the Xerces Blue was officially declared extinct. What makes this extinction particularly tragic is how preventable it was. No diseases, predators, or natural disasters played a role. It was entirely due to human urbanisation and disregard for fragile ecosystems. And sadly, this wasn't the last of its kind. The Rocky Mountain Locust, the American Chestnut Moth, the British Large Copper, and several Hairstreak butterflies have since vanished under similar circumstances. Our modern world, in its rush to grow, has repeatedly failed to make space for the smallest among us. Fun Fact: The Xerces Blue Butterfly is so iconic that it inspired the name of the Xerces Society, a global nonprofit dedicated to invertebrate conservation. Follow PreHistoric World for more true stories of lost species, ancient worlds, and lessons we must not forget.

The largest and deepest natural sinkhole on the planet is called Xiaozai Tiankang.
It is located in the heart of China, Penji. This fantastic sinkhole is completely natural and reaches a depth of 662 meters and a width of 537 meters.
But the most striking thing is the explosion of life that it contains. What confuses geologists due to the effects of water is Xiaozai Tiankang. In this case, it was formed at the top of a cave, where an underground river, 8.5 kilometers long, flows into a magnificent waterfall. Its enormous size makes it the deepest sinkhole in the world.
It is home to about 1,300 species of plants and wildlife. Among the most fascinating “tenants” of the underground forest is the misty panther, known to the locals since ancient times.

I looked out the window and saw the skies were lighting up like crazy. After agonizing over whether to try and get out to photograph them, I ran to the park just about 2 blocks away and fortunately saw a few puddles so sat the camera right at the edge of one and snapped this image and a few others but this was my fave! Hopefully you all enjoy this pic and remember to always look up, cheers my friends!

From a distance, Don Gutoski could see that the red fox was chasing something across the snow.

As he got closer, he realised the prey, now dead, was an Arctic fox.

For three hours in temperatures of -30 degrees centigrade, Don stayed at the scene, until the red fox picked up the eviscerated carcass and dragged it away to store for later.

In the Canadian tundra, global warming is extending the range of red foxes northwards, where they increasingly cross paths with their smaller relatives, the Arctic fox.

For Arctic foxes, red foxes now represent not just their main competitor – both hunt small animals such as lemmings – but also their main predator. Few actual kills by red foxes have been witnessed so far, but it is likely that conflicts between the two mammals will become more common.

'A Tale of Two Foxes' won #WPY51 's Mammals category, and won Don the title of Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2015.

🙈🙉🙊 FYI rapture theology/doctrine (Pre-Tribulation) didn't exist before 1830. Its was written by a 15 year old Scottish girl who had a vision. It was never spoken about in any Bible until Scofield's (British)Reference Bible in 1909. Its almost purely an American evangelical and fundamentalist idea at this point, and certainly not central to any world recognized Christianity, in a global sense.
Believe what you like, I'm not telling you otherwise, but understand that Pre-Tribulation theory is a very new concept to Christianity. BUT if you do believe you will be taken up I would like to remind you that you should donate all your possessions, wealth and find homes for your pets before tomorrow. 🖖

Edit to add... because people don't believe the 15yo girl thing. Her name was Margaret MacDonald and in her sick bed in 1830 she had the vision and Darby read her letters. Not surprising that a man hid the fact that a female came up with the idea , especially back then. Feel free to look her up. 🖖

Mark Mongiardo spent years confused and stigmatized by symptoms that mimicked alcoholism—slurred speech, balance issues, and the unmistakable smell of alcohol—despite not drinking. A dedicated teacher and coach, he was repeatedly called into school offices, arrested twice for DWIs, and even faced doubt from his wife, who believed he might be secretly drinking. After searching online, he discovered auto-brewery syndrome, a rare condition where gut microbes convert carbs into alcohol, leading to real intoxication without a single drink. A glucose challenge test confirmed it: his blood alcohol level spiked to 0.14 within an hour of consuming sugar.

By the time he got diagnosed in 2019, Mongiardo had already sold his house and moved in with family—part of the fallout from legal and career consequences. With felony charges pending, he couldn't pass background checks for teaching jobs and struggled to find work, eventually taking a job at Target and later moving to Florida to rebuild as a real estate agent. Now living with a strict no-carb diet and regularly checking his BAC, he hopes his story brings awareness to a condition that nearly derailed his life.

In February 2019, MIT Technology Review published an article on the “hipster effect,” a Brandeis University study explaining why nonconformists ironically converge on similar styles like beards and flannels. A stock Getty photo of a bearded man in a beanie illustrated the piece, sparking unintended drama.

An angry reader emailed, accusing the magazine of slander and unauthorized use of his image in the “clickbait” story, threatening legal action. Editors verified the license with Getty, discovering the model's name didn't match—proving the complainant wasn't him, hilariously validating the article's thesis on hipster uniformity.
