a feeling that lives from the skin inward, in the gentle poetry of looking at yourself with all the layers that compose you.
the matter-earth that is your body, made of the same particles as this Earth that holds you.
the waters that flow within you, that are your blood and also your deepest emotions.
the fire that keeps the flame of life burning at all times, fueling every single action.
the invisible air that allows you to be here now as a human, connecting the first and last breath of this playful experience we call life.
this infinite feeling of looking within has no final point. if you allow it, it overflows.
and that’s when you begin to understand the ether.
this layer, also invisible, made of particles of what cannot be explained,
where the whisper of intuition comes from, where mystery is ordinary.
the magic of everything that is not, which is also what makes everything that is, exist.
Karina and I could have met in Bali (she’s from there, and I lived on that island for incredible years),
or in Byron Bay (where she lives, and where I spent the entire pandemic),
but it was only in Serra Grande, in Bahia—at a moment when everything I write about here made visceral sense to me,
and she had just finished a dance course exploring exactly this—that we finally met.
I don’t believe in coincidences.
looking at life through the subtle lens of poetry opens the door to dancing gracefully with all this synchronous magic,
which fills and allows us to create with a soul rich in earth, water, fire, air, and ether.
