Process~ ~~ A little look at the first spread in the Little People Big Dreams Ernest Shackleton book. I’ve gained a little more confidence in painting whole scenes this past year, something I used to be a bit of afraid of in case I did one thing to mess up the whole image but now I’ve learnt sometimes really good painting things happen from mistakes and allowing yourself to have a few gos at it. I also like to experiment with objects separately as you can see with the tree and the birds so I can play around with scale. This scene here is mainly created from one image (which didn’t go to plan the first time round) 😂 This is my second attempt at the final colour up with details crayoned on after in pencil 🖍 and a few layered objects added on top in photoshop (swipe right for final image and then right again for a tree I put in to sit Ernest under) 🌳🐦
