Using some of the textures made yesterday at @wypw in my pavement and road is a handmade texture using a metal plate that I’d made marks onto and put through the printing press. The rest of the image is created using acrylic paint and acrylic inks 🎨 my absolute favourite part of illustration is experimenting and learning how to make new textures, then compiling them altogether. 🚌

Remember remember the 5th November! I have to admit fireworks do scare me a little if I’m being honest💥 I’ve heard of too many bad accidents so much prefer to watch from a farrrr faaarr away distance. In normal circumstances there is something exciting about going to a display on the dark nights, wrapping up and eating something warming outside but I think it’s the atmosphere I enjoy more than the short lived beauty of the firework display. They are fun to watch but it’s a double edged sword as I do feel for all the little animals that get scared to death because of them and the damage they cause to their homes 🦔🐿 so I am more than happy to go without Bonfire Night this year. This little night sky scene was illustrated for ‘5 Minute Really True Stories for Bedtime’ recently published by @whatonearth_books and @britannicabooks

This wonderful book got published recently by @whatonearth_books @britannicabooks it was a pleasure to be included in the making of this alongside 9 wonderful illustrators and 4 amazing authors. A collection of bedtime stories and informational tales of the solar system, I loved working on this beautiful and exciting book (and learnt ALOT after reading it) 🌟🪐💫🌙
