At 3:53 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts.



This severe thunderstorm is located 14 kilometres northeast of Tecumseh, moving east at 45 km/h.



Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts.



Locations impacted include:

Windsor, Tecumseh, Belle River, Lakeshore, South Windsor, Windsor Airport, Maidstone, Essex and Stoney Point.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

What:
Additional snowfall accumulations of 7 to 15 cm.
Significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Slippery surfaces and light ice build-up from freezing drizzle.

When:
Ending this afternoon. The heaviest snow is expected this morning. For regions east of Lake Huron, snow squalls will develop this evening.

Additional information:
Periods of freezing drizzle or drizzle at time mixed with light snow will linger before conditions deteriorate this morning as a more significant area of snow and blowing snow arrives. Latest analysis suggests that snowfall accumulations will be less than initially forecast. Travel is not recommended.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Slippery surfaces and light ice build-up from freezing rain or freezing drizzle.

When:
Continuing tonight and ending Sunday evening. The heaviest snow is expected Sunday.

Additional information:
Periods of freezing drizzle or drizzle at time mixed with light snow will linger across the region tonight until the second wave of snow moves in Sunday morning.

Conditions will rapidly deteriorate Sunday morning as a more significant area of snow and blowing snow arrives. An additional 10 to 20 cm is likely. Freezing rain or ice pellets may mix in with snow at times on Sunday, especially for areas near Lake Erie, which will impact total snowfall accumulations. A potent low pressure system will bring another impactful winter storm to the area. Periods of snow, at times mixed with freezing drizzle, will begin this morning bringing general snowfall amounts up to 10 cm by late this evening. Snow may become lighter tonight with a risk of freezing drizzle.

Beginning early Sunday morning and ending Sunday evening.

Additional information:
Another significant winter storm is forecast to bring heavy snowfall and blowing snow to the area. There may also be a chance of freezing rain for areas near Lake Erie.

When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then?
A rarely good post that can't be shared often enough:
1.
Take a 2 minute break and read this:
Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.
2.
You are really tired and frustrated.
All of a sudden you have chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like you’re being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or your home.
3.
Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it.
4.
Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.
5.
How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.
6.
But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.
7.
Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment.
8.
Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.
9. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line, plus sudden fatigue.
